I combined my background in science with a love for art and the natural world as the founding Secretary/Treasurer of the GNSI Finger Lakes established in 2005, a new chapter of the non-profit international Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. I designed and currently serve as Webmaster for our chapter, based in Ithaca, NY. I also designed and maintained the entire site for the International GNSI Conference and Annual Meeting, held in Ithaca, NY on July 20-26, 2008, available above. In addition, I created publications, such as this post card (left) for one of our chapter's exhibits; click the thumbnail for a larger view.

As publicist for Gallery Night of Ithaca for 2005-2006, I designed flyers and press releases, wrote successful grants and annual reports and coordinated event logistics in collaboration with the Ink Shop Printmaking Center.

I've also offered my design skills to the Ink Shop for a number of projects; check out the portfolio page for examples.

Currently one of my passions involves training for 5k and 10k races in Upstate New York, many sponsored by the Wineglass Running Club and the Finger Lakes Runners Club. I also successfully completed my first two marathons, November 2007 in Philadelphia, PA, and October 2009 in Corning, NY, qualifying for the Boston marathon at both. That's a future project! |
